HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY YOUTH DIVERSION
The Spring of 1974 witnessed many major events including the creation of one of the first diversion programs in Ontario called the Frontenac Diversion Program or what you now known as Youth Diversion. Important figures such as Judge George Thomson, Dick and Sherry Barnhost, Don Bearrs, Joan Belch, Judi Connor, Marilyn Bonner, Klaas Meyer, Patti Cassidy, Julia Clifford, John Glasco, Bob Joyce, Elaine Pelkey, Bonnie Ward, Joe Kane, Nicolas Bala, Dr. John Leverette, Bob Gardner, Harley Shaw, Karen Searle, Chip O’Connor, and Judith Ryan played a critical role in establishing the Frontenac Diversion Project
With your help, we want to reach as many past children, youth and families, staff, board and volunteers who have helped ensure the longevity of Youth Diversion and have supported our journey for 50 years.
Over the next several months, we will be posting Youth Diversion related historical milestones, events, activities and outcomes to help celebrate our 50 years of helping youth overcome challenges. This will all culminate on August 15, 2024 with a 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner taking place at the Holiday Inn Waterfront Kingston. Click on the link below or use the QR code in the poster to purchase tickets for the dinner.
We are also offering sponsorship levels which can be purchased as we hope to raise $50,000 to establish our newly formed “Kids Can’t Wait” prevention fund in support of Youth Diversion’s prevention programs.
Join us on this amazing journey, share your stories, pictures and highlights from your Youth Diversion experiences and help us promote this event.
