Downtown Kingston BIA, Kingston Pride & the ReelOut Queer Film Festival are PROUD to team up once again for another exciting outdoor, FREE and family-friendly screening in Kingston’s historic Market Square right behind City Hall. This year, we are presenting SUMMER QAMP, a feature documentary that has been wowing audiences at film festivals all over the world. This film won the Best Documentary award at the 2024 ReelOut Queer Film Festival and had its premiere at TIFF in 2023. Come dressed up in summer camper attire!
Nestled within the woods of Alberta, Canada sits camp fYrefly, a haven for LGBTQIA2S+ teens, far away from the fierce political battle currently being waged against queer expression and gender identity. SUMMER QAMP invites audiences into the innocence and joy of a summer away with friends, while never losing sight of the bravery of these young protagonists whose very existence is challenged in their normal lives.
